Mega Update Part 4- Random Yantai Shenanigans
So to mix things up a bit, i thought i would take a break from holiday pictures and post some of random Yantai life. Back in april we had a couple days off from class for sports days. all the different majors had students participate in games. Nate and Adam signed up to represent the Foreign Language department in a 5 K race. The first day the had the opening ceremonies...just like a little mini Olympics. Each group marched in and Nate was the flag barrier for his group....he is the tallest after all.
Nate looking like a bored little flag boy
THE BIG RACE!!!
Nate and Adam bought hysterical matching shirts that were waaaay too small...but amazing.
Me and Maggie cheering the boys on.
After the race....i can't remember what place they actually came in.
Stretching those legs after the race.
Me and Shun Ho

********************************************************A couple weeks ago the weather got really nice so some of my students organized a picnic on the beach. it was loads of fun to hang out on the beach with them.

Last friday me, nate, adam, jess, and a korean friend of ours that we have affectionatly nicknamed Wicket went to the beach. it was a blast!!
It's not a proper day at the beach unless someone gets buried in the sand.

This last group is just randomness
I was at the bus station the other day and they had a big poster all about AIDS and HIV awareness. Apparently HIV's physical manifestation is a mischievous pumpkin.
You'll probably ahve to click this one to make it big so you can see clearly....but this is an AWESOME shirt i juts got. It's Joseph Stalin wearing mickey mouse ears...holding a teddy bear and a mickey mouse balloon.
This one is for all the sculpture kids and Phoebe!! I think of Phoebe, my sculpture proff who taught me to weld, every time i see stuff like this. Welding in china is done outside on the streets with no mask....gloves...or other safety precautions. i'm only about 5 feet from them.
the best is when they're up high doing welding on buildings and the sparks fall down but there is no roped off area so people are walking right under them.
Some Olympic mascots...and a really cool street performer. this is one guy walking on his hands and feet to make it look like 2 creatures fighting.
